I get this question from coaches that are not used to using this type of technology within their player evaluation and development, and opponent scouting processes. There is no doubt that coaches spend many hours performing these process functions to develop their players skills as well prepare their team against opponents. What I will introduce in this paper is a toolset that will increase your efficiency and effectiveness executing these processes for your program. This toolset’s technology adopts similar processes that are adopted by business managers to improve and manage a company’s business. We use the same approach by taking large amounts of pitch data on pitchers and hitters and translate the data into visual views of a player’s performance, tendencies and trends in games and practice. Dartfish Introduces Opponent Scouting Service

Dartfish Introduces Defensive Alignment Toolset

Dartfish, a leader in Baseball-Softball player development and game planning-preparation tools, today announced a new addition to its game planning toolset. This toolset provides coaches the ability to analyze hit zone tendencies based on their pitching plan against specific hitters. Chuck Wilmot, Dartfish’s Diamond Sports Director, stated “These new tools improve traditional spray charts by analyzing hitting zones based on the pitch type and pitch location thrown to the hitter”. Below is the example how a coach would use the new tools to predict the proper defensive alignment against a specific hitter.
