Apple makes us happy

The Swiss are justifiably proud that their tiny country punches way above its weight in all manner of metrics. Did you know, for example, that a 2013 report for the UN ranked them third happiest country in the world? Well, I’d say that computing giant Apple may well have helped the team at Dartfish HQ to push their entire country up another grade, by selecting our Dartfish Express app to feature in their October 2013 keynote address. Express appears at 62’30″ in a video supporting Apple CEO Tim Cook’s assertion that “We could never have imagined all the amazing ways in which iPads are being used”.The dartfish segment contains atmospheric shots highlighting how video analysis has gone portable and… you know the best bit? When I buy running shoes these days, video analysis is almost always part of the service offered by specialist sports stores. It is very popular with customers and deservedly so because it helps the shop staff to help me to make the right choice of shoe and, speaking as that awkward customer trying to choose from the large pile of shoes at my feet, it helps me to relate the feeling I am getting from a shoe to what it’s doing on the ground. It reassures me that I’m making a good choice.

Dartfish Express wins Tabby Award in Sport & Fitness category

The Tabby Awards, the only worldwide competition for best tablet apps for consumers, announced the winners of its first competition in 24 categories. In association with the Application Developers Alliance, a panel of 17 tablet professionals selected 24 iPad and Android apps from a field of 60 finalists. Dartfish Express is declared finalist at the Tabby Awards

The 60 best tablet apps worldwide are declared as finalists at The Tabby Awards and Dartfish Express is one of them! Independent judges selected them among over 150 iOS, Android and Windows 8 apps submitted from more than a dozen countries in this first tablet app competition. The Tabby Awards have received submissions from more than a dozen countries including Australia, Canada, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. In the last few weeks, an international jury of tablet professionals reviewed the submitted apps. The panel of judges was assembled in collaboration with the Application Developers Alliance and was co-chaired by Ravi Bhatt, CEO of BranchFire, and George Jones, chief consultant at Hit Detection and previous Editor at Maximum PC and TabTimes.
