Interview with Warren Pretorious – Founder of Tennis Analytics

We had the opportunity to interview a Dartfish ninja in Tennis world, Warren Pretorious. Warren is a USPTA Master Professional, a designation held by less than 1% of teaching professionals. A former NCAA-1 collegiate player, Warren also successfully competed on the USTA senior circuit, winning 10 USTA balls, including four national championships. He was named the 2015 USOC Coach of the Year (Doc Councilman Science Award). The first team of the Berner Sport Club Young Boys (BSC Young Boys) evolved in the first Swiss Soccer League. They won 15 Swiss League Championships, 6 Swiss Cups and the last 4 Swiss Championships. YB is one of the most successful Swiss football clubs internationally, reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup in the 1958–59 season. The Kinesiology Department at Cal State East Bay has more than 800 majors offering both BS (Bachelor of Science) and MS (Master of Science) degrees. Cal State East Bay is part of the California State University system which is the nation’s largest and most diverse university with 23 campuses and over 400,000 students. The Kinesiology Department at Cal State East Bay focuses on high impact practices both in the classroom and with a variety of co-curricular programs including student research and internship opportunities, as well as our Biomechanics’ Dartfish Mentor and Professional Development Program. The Dartfish Mentor program was created to assist students with the learning curve of using a video analysis program, Dartfish Motion Analysis, in an undergraduate biomechanics course.
