Dartfish software has just had an innovative redesign – launched this week with myDartfish Live S. It replaces Dartfish Software 9 Connect Plus edition as the desktop tool for live and post-game tagging, so how does Live S compare? And how does it improve on our most popular match analysis tool?

Let’s take a look.

New video technology

Dartfish 10 is now 64 bit software which makes it capable of capturing and playing 4k videos. If you need the sharpness of the latest video standards, you need myDartfish Live S.

Under the hood, there is a completely redesigned video engine. You don’t see most of the benefits this brings but one of the more obvious is the way that screen drawings are rendered. You can expect crisper, clearer lines and text. The way iFrames are handled is improved too and this is particularly evident when trying to identify precise video positions when scrubbing or using fast rewind.

Workspaces equal better workflow

Gone are the separate modules: Tagging, Analyzer, Player etc. Instead, workspaces optimally arrange the video tools and panels required for the different tasks of the tagging workflow.

Library workspace

You have been given a memory stick with four video files? Import them and the Library treats them as a single game. In this workspace, priority is given to finding and organising files, while the small video player is enough to trim off excess footage at the start and end of each video. You might also add ‘explainer’ description which will give the video context when shared. Videos prepared, you are ready to move to the Replay workspace.

Live workspace

The video stream and tagging panel take centre stage in the workspace for video stream capture and live tagging.

NotePro Workspace

Live tagging without video. NotePro is a step up from the myDartfish Note app as it features all the versatility of the desktop software’s tagging panel. Concurrent events; triggers, and resets; Zone Tool; and more are possible. For the first time, NotePro videoless tagging is available outside of the ‘Pro’ editions of Dartfish software.

Replay workspace

A new feature makes its debut here – the Montage. You may understand this better as the Analyzer Storyboard but we’ve redesigned, integrated and repurposed it within the Tagging environment. This will allow you to assemble team presentations and create highlights movies from the events right in front of you – just drag them onto it. In fact, when live tagging, you can add events to the Montage even as play continues. We’ve gone all out to gain you time with this new Dartfish.

Edit Workspace

This workspace is all about the video and the Montage. For sure, it’s the best place to come to deliver your presentations but also where you’ll add your interpretation of events for an online audience. This is where you’ll find drawing tools to enhance video… but not only video… still shots can be added to your montage here too.

We have brought the dartfish.tv favourite Auto-pause (stops at each still shot) to the Dartfish 10 Montage to make better use of the still shots. When stopped, still shot drawings are revealed until play continues.

Better still, whereas the old Storyboard rendered events as scenes when published to your channel or Smart Cloud, a Montage creates a single tagged video so dartfish.tv features such as statistics and event filters are applicable.

Your custom workspace

We’ve laid out the workspaces in what we think is the best way to be efficient in each task but you can disagree with us! So if you have a report that has outgrown its panel… float it, resize it, reposition it.

And when you are done you could close it but why not ‘pin’ it to make it one-click accessible from the edge of the screen?

Pro features now in Live S

NotePro is not the only feature previously found only in the ‘Pro’ editions to make the shift to Live S. We wanted to provide everything that a game analyst could typically need. A Live S tagging panel now has all the features of the top-end TeamPro edition, so among other possibilities: Use the Zone Tool‘s clickable image to create or tag events; tag game time to events and have PTZ control over IP cameras via your tagging panel. As shown in the above image, automatic tracking of drawings is there too.

myDartfish and dartfish.tv licencing

Although Dartfish will remain available to purchase as a perpetual licence, the exciting news is that Live S is also a true myDartfish product: No licence code needed to install, just download it from your myDartfish account and sign-in. Your account also provides freedom to move software from one computer to another and annual subscription means your software is always up to date.

Of course, this also means that organisations can distribute Live S inclusive plans for their members via their dartfish.tv channel; assigning and reassigning access to the software as required.

Try Live S

It is possible to try out Dartish 10 without uninstalling previous versions so that you can enjoy uninterrupted use of the software that you have already mastered while adapting to the new features of Dartfish 10.

A warm welcome to Dartfish 10 Live S edition.
